Over the Easter weekend I did over 300 miles on the awesome VFR1200, and I can honestly say I enjoyed every single one of them, despite getting very wet. The bike rides like a dream and is so confidence inspiring even in the driving rain. As for the thorny issue of tank range I managed 140 miles before the guage registered the reserve, and this would have left approximately another 40 miles in the tank, no worse than the majority of bikes I’ve owned over the years. After a couple of hours in the saddle I’m always ready for a coffee and a stretch of my legs no matter what bike I’m riding. If you really want a bike with a massive tank range come and see me and buy a Varadero.
